- When there are words the dictionary did not reflect
By using the mocoVoice dictionary feature, you can improve the transcription accuracy for proper nouns, technical terms, names, company names, etc. Create a dictionary in advance, and select it to use when starting a transcription.
Steps
1. Open the dictionary management screen
Click Dictionaries & Templates in the left sidebar.
2. Create a new dictionary
Click Create new dictionary on the dictionary management screen.
Enter a dictionary name on the screen that appears, and click Create dictionary.
Give the dictionary a name that is easy to distinguish later. Examples: Morning meeting members, Medical terms, Product names
3. Register a word dictionary
A word dictionary is a dictionary where AI reflects the registered words in the transcript according to the context. It is suitable for words that are easily converted into the wrong characters because they sound similar, such as names, facility names, product names, and technical terms.
- Open the Word dictionary tab.
- In Word, enter the word for which you want to improve accuracy.
- If necessary, enter the Reading. The reading is optional, but entering it in Katakana or Romaji makes it easier to recognize.
- To add more words, click the blue +.
- You can delete unneeded rows with ×.
4. Register a replacement dictionary
A replacement dictionary is a dictionary that always replaces a specified word with another word. Use this when it is hard to reflect in the word dictionary, or when you want to make sure the spelling is unified.
- Open the Replacement dictionary tab.
- In Before replacement, enter the word that is likely to appear in the transcript.
- In After replacement, enter the word you ultimately want to display.
- To add more replacement rules, click the blue +.
For example, if you always want “Robert” to appear as “Bob”, enter Robert in Before replacement and Bob in After replacement.
5. Save the dictionary
After entering words and replacement rules, click the blue Save in the top right. Your edits are not saved until you click Save.
6. Select the dictionary when starting transcription
Just creating a dictionary does not reflect it in the transcription. Please select the dictionary to use on the screen where you start the transcription.
- After selecting an audio or video file, scroll down the screen.
- Go to Dictionary inside Advanced settings.
- Click the selection field that says Do not use dictionary.
- Select the dictionary you created.
- With the dictionary name displayed, click Transcribe.
Guide for which to use
- Word dictionary: Use for words you want to appear correctly according to the context, such as names, company names, and technical terms.
- Replacement dictionary: Use for words you want spelled the same way every time, or words that are hard to reflect with just the word dictionary.
- Reading: Add to names and proper nouns that are easily misread.
Automatic registration by AI
Just by editing the transcript, the AI extracts proper nouns and technical terms and automatically registers them to the dictionary. It saves you the trouble of opening the dictionary management screen separately to register them.
- You can select the destination for automatic registration at the very top of the transcript screen. See “Automatic registration by AI” in Edit a transcript for details.
- Automatic registration does not register the “Reading”. If necessary, open the relevant word on the dictionary management screen and add it.
When there are words the dictionary did not reflect
If there are words that do not reflect even after selecting the dictionary and transcribing, check if the registered content and the dictionary used are correct. If it still does not improve, please contact support. Our staff will investigate and respond to resolve the issue.
